Snacks for smiles: a Mai Savanh Lao story

As the first light of dawn breaks, Lissy, a six-year-old girl from Laos, opens her eyes. School awaits her. Her aspirations are high; she has a dream to become a doctor. Having witnessed her family's struggles with sickness, and the loss of her sister due to a curable disease, she is determined to make a difference. "Never again." she thinks.

She is now fully devoted to her studies, vowing to do whatever it takes to achieve her goal. There is only one problem that's still standing in her way - hunger.

For a young mind to grow and flourish, it requires a sufficient intake of vital nutrients and vitamins. However, with a diet primarily composed of starchy, nutrient-deficient sticky rice, accounting for about 70% of her meals, the chances for her to effectively finish school are slim.

This is where we come in. Our proactive initiative, Snacks for Smiles, is designed specifically for children like Lissy - children with vast dreams but limited means. Our friends at Mai Savanh Lao have developed a state-of-the-art snack bar, packed with the same nutritious ingredient as the products we offer our customers - Sacha Inchi.

Each dollar we make in profit from our products equates to casting a vote for a brighter future for a child in an underprivileged village. It's as straightforward as that. We are not just selling products; we are investing in dreams.
